What is the SaltFacial? The SaltFacial is a powerful 3-step treatment that uses all-natural sea salt to gently resurface the skin, aesthetic ultrasound, and LED light therapy to effectively reduce the appearance of common concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged, pores, sun damage, and uneven texture. It can also be used for corrective purposes to effectively treat acne, unwanted pigment, scars, and stretch marks.
-
How does the SaltFacial work? The SaltFacial is a 3-step treatment. The first step uses all-natural sea salt and positive-pressure to safely and effectively exfoliate and rehydrate the top layers of the skin. This step can be customized to fit each patients specific needs from a light exfoliation to a deeper resurfacing similar to a laser treatment. The second step uses ultrasound energy to increase circulation in the superficial layers of the skin and to significantly increase the penetration of topical products. The last step of The SaltFacial 3-step treatment uses a high-powered LED phototherapy to reduce inflammation and redness, promote rapid healing, and stimulate the production of collagen.
-
Does it hurt/is there any downtime? The SaltFacial treatment is painless with minimal to no downtime. Many of our patients have described the treatment as feeling like a deep exfoliation, followed by a soothing facial massage, and finishing with a relaxing nap on the beach!
-
How many session are required? Most patients see visible results immediately. Our clinicians work with each patient to create a customized treatment plan that best fits their needs. While most patients see immediate results, with 1 treatment – a series of treatments may be recommended for maintenance and/or corrective purposes (acne, scar revision, stretch marks, etc.).
-
What are dermal fillers?Dermal fillers are biocompatible, injectable substances that create lift, add volume, and restore a more youthful appearance to certain areas of the face that show signs of aging.
-
What is in the filler? The most common fillers are made of a soft gel consisting of non-animal hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that naturally occurs in the human body, and it is found in our skin. It helps hydrate and adds volume to the skin. It is naturally broken down by our own bodies.
-
What are the benefits of fillers? As we age (starting as early as 16), we lose volume in key areas of the face. This contributes to folds, wrinkles, hollow temples, thinning lips, sunken eyes, and an older appearance to the face. Fillers can be used to restore this volume loss, smooth out folds and wrinkles, and improve contours to achieve natural results without altering facial expression. Certain fillers can also be used to correct scars.
-
How long do the results last? The effects are long lasting but not permanent. They last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on a number of factors including the patient’s age, area treated, type of filler used, quantity of filler used, and lifestyle.
-
Does it hurt to get filler? Most patients experience only mild discomfort. A local anesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to the treatment for a more comfortable experience. Many of our fillers are also formulated with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort.
-
Is there any downtime? No! You can go right back to your normal routine. However, I always advise my patients that they may have some bruising or swelling, so it is best not to schedule a filler appointment right before any important event.
-
What are the risks and side effects? In general, dermal fillers are considered very safe. The most common reactions are redness, swelling, bruising, itching, and tenderness. These are typically mild and resolve spontaneously in 1-7 days for most patients. Other side effects are very rare.
-
Will I look natural? When fillers are used in the appropriate amount and placed in the right location, the result is a beautiful, natural, youthful outcome. Fillers are not meant to create totally different features. In the hands of an experienced provider that has extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, the outcome simply enhances one’s own facial features.
-
Which filler do I need? The choice of filler depends on the individual patient, their treatment goals, and personal facial anatomy. I recommend booking a consultation to discuss these things with your provider.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTOX AND OTHER NEUROMODULATORS LIKE DYSPORT AND XEOMIN?Though most people refer to neuromodulator treatments as “Botox,” there are multiple neuromodulators that do the same thing. All of the above are considered neuromodulators with only slight differences. Ask us in your free consult about the differences and preferences.
-
HOW DO NEUROMODULATORS WORK?They are injected into targeted treatment areas using an ultra-fine needle. They work by blocking the nerve signals needed for facial muscles to contract. It’s the repetitious contraction of facial muscles that causes expression lines and wrinkles. Once injected, the neuromodulator relaxes the muscles and decreases their movement to reduce the appearance of lines or wrinkles in the area. You will see your results gradually over 3-7 days following injection.
-
WHAT AREAS OF THE FACE CAN BE TREATED WITH NEUROMODULATORS?“Tox” can be used to address lines and wrinkles on a number of different facial areas, including the forehead, eye area (crow’s feet), and lip lines. It may be injected to soften dimpling of the chin. They can also be injected into the muscles of the jaw to help alleviate pain from teeth grinding or TMJ or for a jaw slimming effect. Some of these treatment areas may be considered off label.
-
WHAT DOES A TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?Treatments are quick with minimal discomfort. The treatment requires no anesthesia or recovery time. Many people get Tox during their lunch hours and are able to return to work right after their appointment.
-
IS THE INJECTION PAINFUL?The procedure is not considered painful. Most patients report a brief period of discomfort during the injection, which does not persist once the procedure is complete.
-
HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?While the experience of each patient may differ, it usually takes 5-12 days to see the effects of neuromodulators. For some, it may take up to 2 weeks to realize the final effects.
-
HOW LONG DOES NEUROMODULATOR TREATMENT LAST?The results typically last between 3-5 months from the date of injection. Over time the body metabolizes the product, leading to the slow return of muscle movement in the treatment area. Patients can choose to maintain their results for longer periods by undergoing periodic maintenance treatments every 3-4 months.
-
WHEN SHOULD I START GETTING BOTOX?Some patients may wonder if they are ‘too young’ or ‘too old’ to try Botox. There is no right or wrong age to start using Botox. Patients should be evaluated and receive a consult by a medical professional prior to treatment. Many millennials are starting to using Botox in their twenties when they first start to notice lines and wrinkles or as a preventative measure. Prevention is key!
-
ARE NEUROMODULATORS SAFE?Yes, they are FDA approved treatment for reversing lines and wrinkles. However, patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain neurological diseases should not receive Botox treatments.
-
Are there any contraindications for Dermaplane?Chronic or active facial infections, active cystic acne, within 2 weeks after tox/laser/microneedling facials.
-
What does a dermaplane do for my skin?Dermaplane is the superficial scraping of the dead skin cells and unwanted vellus hair. It also stimulates collagen and elastin production which tightens and firms that skin. Lastly, dermaplane allows skincare to penetrate deeper and more effectively.
-
Can I add Dermaplane to another service?Yes! Dermaplane can be added to any tox or chemical peel service. We even offer a DermaGlow facial which is our signature Dermaplane facial with the addition of collagen stimulating and healing LED lights to get you your best skin yet.
-
How often can I get a Dermaplane done?Depending on the sensitivity of your skin, you can get a dermaplane every 3-5 weeks. Let us get your free skin consultation so we can see exactly how dermaplaning can be incorporated into your skincare regimen.
